Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse testis,Mouse skin,Rat lung,Rat brain
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 25kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse testis,Mouse skin,Rat lung,Rat brain
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Endoplasmic reticulum membrane,Multi-pass membrane protein
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a basic nuclear protein of unknown function. The gene is widely expressed in adult and fetal tissues. Since the region proposed to contain the gene(s) for congenital heart disease (CHD) in Down syndrome (DS) patients has been restricted to 21q22.2-22.3, this gene, which maps to 21q22.3, has a potential role in the pathogenesis of Down syndrome congenital heart disease. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Gene ID 7485
Gene name WRB
Swiss O00258
Synonym WRB,CHD5,GET1,WRB Rabbit pAb,Congenital heart disease 5 protein,Tail-anchored protein insertion receptor WRB,Tryptophan-rich basic protein
Functions Receptor for ASNA1/TRC40-mediated insertion of tail-anchored (TA) proteins into the ER membrane.
