Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 22KDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control HepG2,A-549,SKOV3,Mouse liver,Mouse pancreas,Rat liver,Rat pancreas
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: endoplasmic reticulum
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IF/ICC Conditions for IF/ICC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control HepG2,A-549,SKOV3,Mouse liver,Mouse pancreas,Rat liver,Rat pancreas
Key conditions Optimize fixation, permeabilization, and blocking, and include a secondary-only control
Expected result Expected fluorescence localization: endoplasmic reticulum
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background The signal sequence receptor (SSR) is a glycosylated endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane receptor associated with protein translocation across the ER membrane. The SSR consists of 2 subunits, a 34-kD glycoprotein (alpha-SSR or SSR1) and a 22-kD glycoprotein (beta-SSR or SSR2). The human beta-signal sequence receptor gene (SSR2) maps to chromosome bands 1q21-q23.
Gene ID 6746
Gene name SSR2
Swiss P43308
Synonym TLAP,HSD25,TRAPB,TRAP-BETA,SSR2 Rabbit pAb,SSR2,Signal sequence receptor subunit beta
Functions TRAP proteins are part of a complex whose function is to bind calcium to the ER membrane and thereby regulate the retention of ER resident proteins.
