Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:1000
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse brain,Rat brain
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 26kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Immunogen

Target data

Background This gene encodes a retinal protein that is associated with promyelocytic leukemia-gene product (PML) bodies in the nucleus. Mutations in this gene cause Leber congenital amaurosis type 12, a disease that results in retinal degeneration. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Gene ID 343035
Gene name RD3
Swiss Q7Z3Z2
Synonym RD3,C1orf36,LCA12,RD3 Rabbit pAb,Retinal degeneration protein 3
Expression Expressed in retina (PubMed:12914764). Widely expressed (at protein level) (PubMed:29030614). In the retina the strongest immunoreactivity is detected in the inner half of the cytoplasmic portion of the photoreceptor layer, where rods and cones are found, and the external half of the outer plexiform layer (at protein level) (PubMed:29030614).
