Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control HeLa,Mouse brain,Mouse kidney,Rat brain
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 20kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control HeLa,Mouse brain,Mouse kidney,Rat brain
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Cytoplasm,Nucleus
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IP Conditions for IP
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control HeLa,Mouse brain,Mouse kidney,Rat brain
Key conditions Start at the recommended dilution and titrate for your sample and assay
Expected result Expected signal or band near 20kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background NAT5 is a component of N-acetyltransferase complex B (NatB). Human NatB performs cotranslational N(alpha)-terminal acetylation of methionine residues when they are followed by asparagine (Starheim et al., 2008 [PubMed 18570629]).[supplied by OMIM, Apr 2009]
Gene ID 51126
Gene name NAA20
Swiss P61599
Synonym NAA20,NAT3,NAT3P,NAT5,NAT5P,dJ1002M8.1,NAA20 Rabbit pAb,Methionine N-acetyltransferase,N-acetyltransferase 5,N-terminal acetyltransferase B complex catalytic subunit NAA20,N-terminal acetyltransferase B complex catalytic subunit NAT5,NatB catalytic subunit
Functions Catalytic subunit of the NatB complex which catalyzes acetylation of the N-terminal methionine residues of peptides beginning with Met-Asp, Met-Glu, Met-Asn and Met-Gln. Proteins with cell cycle functions are overrepresented in the pool of NatB substrates. Required for maintaining the structure and function of actomyosin fibers and for proper cellular migration.
