Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control MCF7,HepG2,Mouse brain,Rat brain
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 45-50kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control MCF7,HepG2,Mouse brain,Rat brain
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Mitochondrion inner membrane,Multi-pass membrane protein
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a member of the mitochondrial carrier family. The encoded protein is localized to the mitochondrion inner membrane and induces apoptosis independent of the proapoptotic proteins Bax and Bak. Pseudogenes on chromosomes 6 and 11 have been identified for this gene. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed.
Gene ID 23787
Gene name MTCH1
Swiss Q9NZJ7
Synonym MTCH1,CGI-64,PIG60,PSAP,SLC25A49,MTCH1 Rabbit pAb,Presenilin-associated protein
Expression Widely expressed with a predominant expression in brain.
Functions Potential mitochondrial transporter. May play a role in apoptosis.
