Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Testis,Thyroid,Skeletal muscle
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 44kDa/45kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a member of LIM-homeodomain family of proteins containing two N-terminal zinc-binding LIM domains, 1 homeodomain, and a C-terminal glutamine-rich domain. It functions as a transcription factor, and is essential for the normal development of dorsal limb structures, the glomerular basement membrane, the anterior segment of the eye, and dopaminergic and serotonergic neurons. Mutations in this gene are associated with nail-patella syndrome. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Gene ID 4010
Gene name LMX1B
Swiss O60663
Synonym LMX1B,LMX1.2,NPS1,LMX1B Rabbit pAb,LIM/homeobox protein 1.2,LIM/homeobox protein LMX1B
Expression Expressed in most tissues. Highest levels in testis, thyroid, duodenum, skeletal muscle, and pancreatic islets.
Functions Essential for the specification of dorsal limb fate at both the zeugopodal and autopodal levels.
