Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Rat eye
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 80kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:100 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control Rat eye
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Secreted
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a protein that is a major component of the retinal interphotoreceptor matrix. The encoded protein is a proteoglycan that is thought to play a role in maintaining viability of photoreceptor cells and in adhesion of the neural retina to the retinal pigment epithelium. Alternate splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Gene ID 3617
Gene name IMPG1
Swiss Q17R60
Synonym IMPG1,GP147,IPM150,SPACR,VMD4,IMPG1 Rabbit pAb,Interphotoreceptor matrix proteoglycan of 150 kDa,Sialoprotein associated with cones and rods
Expression Expressed in the retina (at protein level) (PubMed:10601738, PubMed:29777959). In the retina, specifically expressed by cone and rod photoreceptor cells (PubMed:9813076). Localizes to cone and rod photoreceptor cells surrounding the interphotoreceptor matrix of the retina (PubMed:9719680).
Functions May interact with hyaluronan which may serve to form a basic macromolecular scaffold comprising the insoluble interphotoreceptor matrix.
