Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse skeletal muscle,Rat skeletal muscle
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 55kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Immunogen

Target data

Background This gene encodes a protein with an ankyrin repeat region and two BTB/POZ domains, which are thought to be involved in protein-protein interactions. Expression of this gene is activated by the phosphatase and tensin homolog, a tumor suppressor. Alternate splicing results in three transcript variants.
Gene ID 80325
Gene name ABTB1
Swiss Q969K4
Synonym BPOZ,BTB3,BTBD21,EF1ABP,PP2259,ABTB1,ABTB1 Rabbit pAb,Elongation factor 1A-binding protein
Expression Ubiquitously expressed in all fetal tissues examined including heart, brain, liver, and kidney. Also expressed at lower levels in both adult heart and hypertrophic heart.
Functions May act as a mediator of the PTEN growth-suppressive signaling pathway. May play a role in developmental processes.
