Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control K-562,Mouse lung,Rat lung
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 14kDa/88kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control K-562,Mouse lung,Rat lung
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Nucleus
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
ELISA Conditions for ELISA
Recommended dilution See the validation images or contact technical support
Suggested sample / positive control K-562,Mouse lung,Rat lung
Key conditions Start at the recommended dilution and titrate for your sample and assay
Expected result Expected signal or band near 14kDa/88kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the Kruppel family of zinc finger DNA binding proteins. The encoded protein activates transcription of the T-cell receptor and intestinal alkaline phosphatase genes but represses transcription of the ornithine decarboxylase, vimentin, gastrin, stomelysin, and enolase genes. Increased expression of this gene results in decreased patient survival rates from colorectal cancer, while mutations in this gene have been associated with global developmental delay, hypoplastic corpus callosum, and dysmorphic facies.
Gene ID 7707
Gene name ZNF148
Swiss Q9UQR1
Synonym ZNF148,BERF-1,BFCOL1,GDACCF,HT-BETA,ZBP-89,ZFP148,pHZ-52,ZNF148 Antibody,Transcription factor ZBP-89,Zinc finger DNA-binding protein 89,ZBP89
Functions Involved in transcriptional regulation. Represses the transcription of a number of genes including gastrin, stromelysin and enolase. Binds to the G-rich box in the enhancer region of these genes.
