Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control HeLa,SKOV3,Mouse brain,Mouse skeletal muscle,Rat brain
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 59kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IP Conditions for IP
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control HeLa,SKOV3,Mouse brain,Mouse skeletal muscle,Rat brain
Key conditions Start at the recommended dilution and titrate for your sample and assay
Expected result Expected signal or band near 59kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases catalyze the aminoacylation of tRNA by their cognate amino acid. Because of their central role in linking amino acids with nucleotide triplets contained in tRNAs, aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases are thought to be among the first proteins that appeared in evolution. Tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase belongs to the class I tRNA synthetase family. Cytokine activities have also been observed for the human tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase, after it is split into two parts, an N-terminal fragment that harbors the catalytic site and a C-terminal fragment found only in the mammalian enzyme. The N-terminal fragment is an interleukin-8-like cytokine, whereas the released C-terminal fragment is an EMAP II-like cytokine.
Gene ID 8565
Gene name YARS
Swiss P54577
Synonym YARS,CMTDIC,TYRRS,YRS,YTS,YARS Rabbit pAb,Tyrosyl-tRNA synthetase
Functions Catalyzes the attachment of tyrosine to tRNA(Tyr) in a two-step reaction: tyrosine is first activated by ATP to form Tyr-AMP and then transferred to the acceptor end of tRNA(Tyr).
