Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse ovary
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 45kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
FC Conditions for FC
Recommended dilution 1:20 - 1:50
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse ovary
Key conditions For intracellular targets, optimize fixation and permeabilization, and include an isotype control
Expected result Expect the positive population to shift relative to the negative or isotype control
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background The WNT gene family consists of structurally related genes which encode secreted signaling proteins. These proteins have been implicated in oncogenesis and in several developmental processes, including regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis. This gene is a member of the WNT gene family. It encodes a protein which shows 94% and 80% amino acid identity to the mouse Wnt5b protein and the human WNT5A protein, respectively. Alternative splicing of this gene generates 2 transcript variants.
Gene ID 81029
Gene name WNT5B
Swiss Q9H1J7
Synonym Wnt5b,Wnt5b Rabbit mAb
Functions Ligand for members of the frizzled family of seven transmembrane receptors. Probable developmental protein. May be a signaling molecule which affects the development of discrete regions of tissues. Is likely to signal over only few cell diameters (By similarity).
