Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse spleen
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 33kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family. Most of these members are cell-surface proteins that are characterized by the presence of four hydrophobic domains. The proteins mediate signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth and motility. The use of alternate polyadenylation sites has been found for this gene.
Gene ID 23555
Gene name TSPAN15
Swiss O95858
Synonym TSPAN15,2700063A19Rik,NET-7,NET7,TM4SF15,TSPAN15 Rabbit pAb,Tetraspan NET-7,Transmembrane 4 superfamily member 15
Functions Regulates maturation and trafficking of the transmembrane metalloprotease ADAM10. Promotes ADAM10-mediated cleavage of CDH2. Negatively regulates ligand-induced Notch activity probably by regulating ADAM10 activity.
