Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse heart
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 186kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background The protein encoded by this gene localizes to focal adhesions, regions of the plasma membrane where the cell attaches to the extracellular matrix. This protein crosslinks actin filaments and contains a Src homology 2 (SH2) domain, which is often found in molecules involved in signal transduction. This protein is a substrate of calpain II. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms. [provided by RefSeq, Apr 2015]

Synonym MST091,MST122,MST127,MSTP091,MSTP122,MSTP127,MXRA6,PPP1R155,TNS,TNS1,TNS1 Rabbit pAb
Expression In the lung, detected in the alveolar septa (at protein level) (PubMed:28005397). Ubiquitous (PubMed:11023826).
Functions Involved in fibrillar adhesion formation. May be involved in cell migration, cartilage development and in linking signal transduction pathways to the cytoskeleton.
