Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Daudi
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 50-70KDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:100
Suggested sample / positive control Daudi
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Golgi apparatus,Golgi stack membrane,Secreted,Single-pass type II membrane protein
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IF/ICC Conditions for IF/ICC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:100
Suggested sample / positive control Daudi
Key conditions Optimize fixation, permeabilization, and blocking, and include a secondary-only control
Expected result Expected fluorescence localization: Golgi apparatus,Golgi stack membrane,Secreted,Single-pass type II membrane protein
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a member of glycosyltransferase family 29. The encoded protein is a type II membrane protein that catalyzes the transfer of sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to galactose-containing substrates. The protein, which is normally found in the Golgi but can be proteolytically processed to a soluble form, is involved in the generation of the cell-surface carbohydrate determinants and differentiation antigens HB-6, CD75, and CD76. This gene has been incorrectly referred to as CD75. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been described.
Gene ID 6480
Gene name ST6GAL1
Swiss P15907
Synonym ST6GAL1,SIAT1,ST6GalI,ST6N,ST6GAL1 Rabbit pAb,CMP-N-acetylneuraminate-beta-galactosamide-alpha-2,6-sialyltransferase 1,ST6Gal I,Sialyltransferase 1
Functions Transfers sialic acid from CMP-sialic acid to galactose-containing acceptor substrates.
