Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control A-549,293T,HT-29,MCF7,Mouse small intestine,Rat lung
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 76kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background The protein encoded by this gene is a pH-sensitive sodium-dependent phosphate transporter. Phosphate uptake is increased at lower pH. Defects in this gene are a cause of pulmonary alveolar microlithiasis. Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Gene ID 10568
Gene name SLC34A2
Swiss O95436
Synonym SLC34A2,NAPI-3B,NAPI-IIb,NPTIIb,SLC34A2 Rabbit pAb,Na(+)-dependent phosphate cotransporter 2B,NaPi3b,Sodium/phosphate cotransporter 2B,Solute carrier family 34 member 2
Expression Highly expressed in lung. Also detected in pancreas, kidney, small intestine, ovary, testis, prostate and mammary gland. In lung, it is found in alveolar type II cells but not in bronchiolar epithelium.
Functions May be involved in actively transporting phosphate into cells via Na+ cotransport. It may be the main phosphate transport protein in the intestinal brush border membrane. May have a role in the synthesis of surfactant in lungs' alveoli.
