Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:1000 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control U-87MG,A-549,B cells,Mouse lung,Mouse liver
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 30kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background Voltage-gated sodium channels are transmembrane glycoprotein complexes composed of a large alpha subunit and one or more regulatory beta subunits. They are responsible for the generation and propagation of action potentials in neurons and muscle. This gene encodes one member of the sodium channel beta subunit gene family, and influences the inactivation kinetics of the sodium channel. Two alternatively spliced variants, encoding the same protein, have been identified.
Gene ID 55800
Gene name SCN3B
Swiss Q9NY72
Synonym SCN3B,ATFB16,BRGDA7,HSA243396,SCNB3,SCN3B Rabbit pAb,KIAA1158
Expression Expressed in the atrium.
Functions Modulates channel gating kinetics. Causes unique persistent sodium currents. Inactivates the sodium channel opening more slowly than the subunit beta-1. Its association with NFASC may target the sodium channels to the nodes of Ranvier of developing axons and retain these channels at the nodes in mature myelinated axons (By similarity).
