Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:1000
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse brain,Rat thymus
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 70-72KDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Immunogen

Immunogen A synthetic peptide corresponding to a sequence within amino acids 250-350 of human RXRB (NP_001257330.1).

Target data

Background This gene encodes a member of the retinoid X receptor (RXR) family of nuclear receptors which are involved in mediating the effects of retinoic acid (RA). The encoded protein forms homodimers with the retinoic acid, thyroid hormone, and vitamin D receptors, increasing both DNA binding and transcriptional function on their respective response elements. This gene lies within the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II region on chromosome 6. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding multiple isoforms have been observed for this gene.
Gene ID 6257
Gene name RXRB
Swiss P28702
Synonym DAUDI6,H-2RIIBP,NR2B2,RCoR-1,RXRB,RXRB Rabbit pAb,Nuclear receptor subfamily 2 group B member 2,Retinoid X receptor beta
Expression Expressed in aortic endothelial cells (at protein level) (PubMed:28167758). Expressed in monocytes (PubMed:26463675). Expressed in a variety of tumor cell lines.
Functions Receptor for retinoic acid. Retinoic acid receptors bind as heterodimers to their target response elements in response to their ligands, all-trans or 9-cis retinoic acid, and regulate gene expression in various biological processes. The RAR/RXR heterodimers bind to the retinoic acid response elements (RARE).
