Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:1000
Suggested sample / positive control Raji,Mouse lung
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 165KDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Immunogen

Target data

Background This gene encodes a heme-containing peroxidase that is secreted into the extracellular matrix. It is involved in extracellular matrix formation, and may function in the physiological and pathological fibrogenic response in fibrotic kidney. Mutations in this gene cause corneal opacification and other ocular anomalies, and also microphthalmia and anterior segment dysgenesis.
Gene ID 7837
Gene name PXDN
Swiss Q92626
Synonym PXN,VPO,MG50,PRG2,ASGD7,COPOA,D2S448,D2S448E,PXDN,PXDN Rabbit pAb,Melanoma-associated antigen MG50,Peroxidasin 1,Vascular peroxidase 1,p53-responsive gene 2 protein,KIAA0230,PXD01,VPO1
Expression Expressed at higher levels in heart, lung, ovary, spleen, intestine and placenta, and at lower levels in liver, colon, pancreas, kidney, thymus, skeletal muscle and prostate. Expressed in tumors such as melanoma, breast cancer, ovarian cancer and glioblastoma. A shorter form probably lacking the signal sequence is found in testis and in EB1 cells undergoing p53/TP53-dependent apoptosis.
Functions Displays low peroxidase activity and is likely to participate in H2O2 metabolism and peroxidative reactions in the cardiovascular system. Plays a role in extracellular matrix formation.
