Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:200 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control SH-SY5Y,A-549,HL-60
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 25kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control SH-SY5Y,A-549,HL-60
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Nucleus,nucleolus
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes one of the protein subunits of the small nucleolar ribonucleoprotein complexes: the endoribonuclease for mitochondrial RNA processing complex and the ribonuclease P complex. The encoded protein is localized to the nucleus and associates directly with the RNA component of these complexes. This protein is involved in processing of precursor RNAs. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Gene ID 10775
Gene name POP4
Swiss O95707
Synonym POP4,RPP29,POP4 Rabbit pAb
Functions Part of ribonuclease P, a protein complex that generates mature tRNA molecules by cleaving their 5'-ends. May function with RPP38 to coordinate the nucleolar targeting and/or assembly of RNase P.
