Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution See the validation images or contact technical support
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse brain,Rat brain
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 37kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC-P Conditions for IHC-P
Recommended dilution See the validation images or contact technical support
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse brain,Rat brain
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Nucleus
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IP Conditions for IP
Recommended dilution See the validation images or contact technical support
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse brain,Rat brain
Key conditions Start at the recommended dilution and titrate for your sample and assay
Expected result Expected signal or band near 37kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a member of the bicoid sub-family of homeodomain-containing transcription factors. The encoded protein acts as a transcription factor and may play a role in brain and sensory organ development. A similar protein in mouse is required for proper brain and sensory organ development and can cause epilepsy. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
