Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:100 - 1:500
Suggested sample / positive control 293F,U-87MG,Mouse liver,Rat liver
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 23KDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Immunogen

Target data

Background Subunit of the oligosaccharyl transferase (OST complex that catalyzes the initial transfer of a defined glycan (Glc(3Man(9GlcNAc(2 in eukaryotes from the lipid carrier dolichol-pyrophosphate to an asparagine residue within an Asn-X-Ser/Thr consensus motif in nascent polypeptide chains, the first step in protein N-glycosylation. N-glycosylation occurs cotranslationally and the complex associates with the Sec61 complex at the channel-forming translocon complex that mediates protein translocation across the endoplasmic reticulum (ER. All subunits are required for a maximal enzyme activity. May be involved in N-glycosylation of APP (amyloid-beta precursor protein. Can modulate gamma-secretase cleavage of APP by enhancing endoprotelysis of PSEN1.
Gene ID 58505
Gene name OSTC
Swiss Q9NRP0
Synonym OSTC,DC2,OSTC Rabbit pAb,Hydrophobic protein HSF-28
Functions May act as substrate-specific component of the N-oligosaccharyl transferase (OST) complex which catalyzes the transfer of a high mannose oligosaccharide from a lipid-linked oligosaccharide donor to an asparagine residue within an Asn-X-Ser/Thr consensus motif in nascent polypeptide chains. May be involved in N-glycosylation of APP (amyloid-beta precursor protein). Can modulate gamma-secretase cleavage of APP by enhancing endoprotelysis of PSEN1.
