Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse brain,Rat brain
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 40kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
FC Conditions for FC
Recommended dilution 1:20 - 1:50
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse brain,Rat brain
Key conditions For intracellular targets, optimize fixation and permeabilization, and include an isotype control
Expected result Expect the positive population to shift relative to the negative or isotype control
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background G-protein coupled receptor that functions as receptor for endogenous enkephalins and for a subset of other opioids. Ligand binding causes a conformation change that triggers signaling via guanine nucleotide-binding proteins (G proteins and modulates the activity of down-stream effectors, such as adenylate cyclase. Signaling leads to the inhibition of adenylate cyclase activity. Inhibits neurotransmitter release by reducing calcium ion currents and increasing potassium ion conductance. Plays a role in the perception of pain and in opiate-mediated analgesia. Plays a role in developing analgesic tolerance to morphine.
Gene ID 4985
Gene name OPRD1
Swiss P41143
Synonym OPRD1,OPRD1 Rabbit mAb,OPRD
Expression Detected in oocytes (at protein level). Detected in brain cortex, hypothalamus, hippocampus and olfactory bulb. Detected in oocytes.
