Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control PC-3,Mouse spleen,Mouse stomach,Rat stomach
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 54kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IP Conditions for IP
Recommended dilution 1:20 - 1:50
Suggested sample / positive control PC-3,Mouse spleen,Mouse stomach,Rat stomach
Key conditions Start at the recommended dilution and titrate for your sample and assay
Expected result Expected signal or band near 54kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene was originally cloned from human myeloblasts and found to be selectively expressed in inflammed colonic epithelium. This gene encodes a member of the olfactomedin family. The encoded protein is an antiapoptotic factor that promotes tumor growth and is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein that facilitates cell adhesion.
Gene ID 10562
Gene name OLFM4
Swiss Q6UX06
Synonym OLFM4,OLFM4 Rabbit mAb,Antiapoptotic protein GW112,G-CSF-stimulated clone 1 protein,hOLfD,GW112
Expression Expressed during myeloid lineage development. Much higher expression in bone marrow neutrophils than in peripheral blood neutrophils (at protein level). Strongly expressed in the prostate, small intestine and colon and moderately expressed in the bone marrow and stomach. Overexpressed in some pancreatic cancer tissues.
Functions May promote proliferation of pancreatic cancer cells by favoring the transition from the S to G2/M phase. In myeloid leukemic cell lines, inhibits cell growth and induces cell differentiation and apoptosis. May play a role in the inhibition of EIF4EBP1 phosphorylation/deactivation. Facilitates cell adhesion, most probably through interaction with cell surface lectins and cadherin.
