Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500- 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control RAW264.7,Rat liver
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 18KDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
ICC/IF Conditions for ICC/IF
Recommended dilution See the validation images or contact technical support
Suggested sample / positive control RAW264.7,Rat liver
Key conditions Optimize fixation, permeabilization, and blocking, and include a secondary-only control
Expected result Expected fluorescence localization: Membrane,Multi-pass membrane protein
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background The ninjurin protein is upregulated after nerve injury both in dorsal root ganglion neurons and in Schwann cells. It demonstrates properties of a homophilic adhesion molecule and promotes neurite outgrowth from primary cultured dorsal root ganglion neurons.
Gene ID 4814
Gene name NINJ1
Swiss Q92982
Synonym NINJ1,NIN1,NINJURIN,NINJ1 Rabbit pAb,Nerve injury-induced protein 1,Soluble ninjurin-1
Expression Widely expressed in both adult and embryonic tissues, primarily those of epithelial origin.
Functions Homophilic cell adhesion molecule that promotes axonal growth. May play a role in nerve regeneration and in the formation and function of other tissues. Cell adhesion requires divalent cations.
