Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control HeLa,HepG2,NIH/3T3
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 14kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background Originally named because of its sequence similarity to the Saccharomyces cerevisiae NHP2 (non-histone protein 2), this protein appears to be a highly conserved nuclear protein that is a component of the [U4/U6.U5] tri-snRNP. It binds to the 5' stem-loop of U4 snRNA. Two transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
Gene ID 4809
Gene name SNU13
Swiss P55769
Synonym SNU13,15.5K,FA-1,FA1,NHP2L1,NHPX,OTK27,SNRNP15-5,SPAG12,SSFA1,NHP2L1 Rabbit pAb,High mobility group-like nuclear protein 2 homolog 1,SNU13 homolog,U4/U6.U5 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein SNU13,U4/U6.U5 tri-snRNP 15.5 kDa protein
Expression Ubiquitous.
Functions Involved in pre-mRNA splicing as component of the spliceosome (PubMed:28781166). Binds to the 5'-stem-loop of U4 snRNA and thereby contributes to spliceosome assembly (PubMed:10545122, PubMed:17412961). The protein undergoes a conformational change upon RNA-binding (PubMed:17412961).
