Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control A-549,K-562
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 12kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:100 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control A-549,K-562
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Cytoplasm,Mitochondrion,Nucleus
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background The protein encoded by this gene binds to the N-terminus of the oncogenic protein C-MYC, enhancing the ability of C-MYC to activate E box-dependent transcription. The encoded protein is normally found in the cytoplasm, but it translocates to the nucleus during S phase of the cell cycle and associates with C-MYC. This protein may be involved in spermatogenesis. This gene can be silenced by microRNA-22. Two transcript variants, one protein-coding and the other probably not protein-coding, have been found for this gene.
Gene ID 26292
Gene name MYCBP
Swiss Q99417
Synonym MYCBP,AMY-1,MYCBP Rabbit pAb,Associate of Myc 1,AMY1
Expression Highly expressed in heart, placenta, pancreas, skeletal muscle and kidney. Also present at low levels in lung.
Functions May control the transcriptional activity of MYC. Stimulates the activation of E box-dependent transcription by MYC.
