Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control HepG2,NCI-H460,Mouse heart,Rat kidney
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 73kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:100 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control HepG2,NCI-H460,Mouse heart,Rat kidney
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Secreted
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a member of von Willebrand factor A domain-containing protein family. The proteins of this family are thought to be involved in the formation of filamentous networks in the extracellular matrices of various tissues. This family member is thought to be play a role in reorganizing and regenerating the corneal matrix in granular and lattice type I dystrophies. It may also be involved in wound healing in the dentin-pulp complex. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Gene ID 8785
Gene name MATN4
Swiss O95460
Synonym MATN4,MATN4 Rabbit pAb
Expression Embryonic kidney, lung and placenta.
Functions Major component of the extracellular matrix of cartilage.
