Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control U-87MG,Mouse testis,Mouse brain,Rat testis,Rat brain
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 52kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a member of a large protein family which contains the LIM domain, a unique cysteine-rich zinc-binding domain. The encoded protein is a transcription factor important for the development of the renal and urogenital systems. This gene is a candidate for Mayer-Rokitansky-Kuster-Hauser syndrome, a disorder characterized by anomalies in the female genital tract.
Gene ID 3975
Gene name LHX1
Swiss P48742
Synonym LHX1,LIM-1,LIM1,LHX1 Rabbit pAb,Homeobox protein Lim-1
Expression Expressed in the brain, thymus, and tonsils. Expressed in samples from patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) and in 58% of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) cell lines.
Functions Potential transcription factor. May play a role in early mesoderm formation and later in lateral mesoderm differentiation and neurogenesis.
