Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:200 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control 293T,HeLa
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 110kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background Voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels represent the most complex class of voltage-gated ion channels from both functional and structural standpoints. Their diverse functions include regulating neurotransmitter release, heart rate, insulin secretion, neuronal excitability, epithelial electrolyte transport, smooth muscle contraction, and cell volume. This gene encodes a member of the potassium channel, voltage-gated, subfamily H. This member is a pore-forming (alpha) subunit. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants that encode different isoforms.
Gene ID 81033
Gene name KCNH6
Swiss Q9H252
Synonym KCNH6,ERG-2,ERG2,HERG2,Kv11.2,hERG-2,KCNH6 Rabbit pAb,Ether-a-go-go-related gene potassium channel 2,Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily H member 6,Voltage-gated potassium channel subunit Kv11.2
Expression Expressed in prolactin-secreting adenomas.
Functions Pore-forming (alpha) subunit of voltage-gated potassium channel. Elicits a slowly activating, rectifying current (By similarity). Channel properties may be modulated by cAMP and subunit assembly.
