Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control mouse testis, mouse liver
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 140kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control mouse testis, mouse liver
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Membrane,Single-pass type I membrane protein
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
ICC/IF Conditions for ICC/IF
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control mouse testis, mouse liver
Key conditions Optimize fixation, permeabilization, and blocking, and include a secondary-only control
Expected result Expected fluorescence localization: Membrane,Single-pass type I membrane protein
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes an alpha integrin. Integrins are heterodimeric integral membrane glycoproteins composed of an alpha chain and a beta chain that mediate cell-cell and cell-matrix adhesion. The protein encoded by this gene, when bound to the beta 1 chain, forms an integrin that is a receptor for VCAM1, cytotactin and osteopontin. Expression of this gene has been found to be upregulated in small cell lung cancers.
Gene ID 3680
Gene name ITGA9
Swiss Q13797
Synonym Integrin alpha 9,Integrin alpha 9 Rabbit mAb,ITGA9,Integrin alpha-RLC
Expression In airway epithelium, in the basal layer of squamous epithelium, and in smooth muscle, skeletal muscle, and hepatocytes. Abundantly expressed in fetal lung and lung cancers.
Functions Integrin alpha-9/beta-1 (ITGA9:ITGB1) is a receptor for VCAM1, cytotactin and osteopontin. It recognizes the sequence A-E-I-D-G-I-E-L in cytotactin.
