Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:1000 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control NIH/3T3,293T,BT-474
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 55KDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IF/ICC Conditions for IF/ICC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control NIH/3T3,293T,BT-474
Key conditions Optimize fixation, permeabilization, and blocking, and include a secondary-only control
Expected result Expected fluorescence localization: Cytoplasm,Nucleus
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background The protein encoded by this gene acts as a homotetramer to regulate cell growth. The encoded protein is an enzyme that catalyzes the synthesis of xanthine monophosphate (XMP) from inosine-5'-monophosphate (IMP). This is the rate-limiting step in the de novo synthesis of guanine nucleotides. Defects in this gene are a cause of retinitis pigmentosa type 10 (RP10). Several transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
Gene ID 3614
Gene name IMPDH1
Swiss P20839
Synonym IMPDH1,IMPD,IMPD1,IMPDH-I,LCA11,RP10,sWSS2608,IMPDH1 Rabbit pAb
Expression IMP type I is the main species in normal leukocytes and type II predominates over type I in the tumor.
Functions Catalyzes the conversion of inosine 5'-phosphate (IMP) to xanthosine 5'-phosphate (XMP), the first committed and rate-limiting step in the de novo synthesis of guanine nucleotides, and therefore plays an important role in the regulation of cell growth. Could also have a single-stranded nucleic acid-binding activity and could play a role in RNA and/or DNA metabolism. It may also have a role in the development of malignancy and the growth progression of some tumors.
