Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control U-87MG,BxPC-3
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 69kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control U-87MG,BxPC-3
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: cytoplasm, cytosol,Golgi apparatus, synaptic vesicle membrane
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a protein with an arfaptin homology domain that is found both in the cytosol and as membrane-bound form on the Golgi complex and immature secretory granules. This protein is believed to be an autoantigen in insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and primary Sjogren's syndrome. Several transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene. [provided by RefSeq, Feb 2013]
Gene ID 3382
Gene name ICA1
Swiss Q05084
Synonym ICA69,ICAp69,ICA1,ICA1 Rabbit pAb,69 kDa islet cell autoantigen,Islet cell autoantigen p69
Expression Expressed abundantly in pancreas, heart and brain with low levels of expression in lung, kidney, liver and thyroid.
Functions May play a role in neurotransmitter secretion.
