Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control U266,MDA-MB-231,Jurkat,Molt-4(Negative control)
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 37KDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a member of the hairy and enhancer of split-related (HESR) family of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH)-type transcription factors. The sequence of the encoded protein contains a conserved bHLH and orange domain, but its YRPW motif has diverged from other HESR family members. It is thought to be an effector of Notch signaling and a regulator of cell fate decisions. Alternatively spliced transcript variants have been found, but their biological validity has not been determined.
Gene ID 26508
Gene name HEYL
Swiss Q9NQ87
Synonym HEY3,HRT3,HESR3,bHLHb33,HEYL,HEYL Rabbit pAb,Class B basic helix-loop-helix protein 33,Hairy-related transcription factor 3
Functions Downstream effector of Notch signaling which may be required for cardiovascular development (By similarity). Transcriptional repressor which binds preferentially to the canonical E box sequence 5'-CACGTG-3' (By similarity). Represses transcription by the cardiac transcriptional activators GATA4 and GATA6.
