Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500-1:2000, IF/ICC 1:100-1:500, IHC 1:50-1:200
Suggested sample / positive control Rat brain
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 55kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution See the validation images or contact technical support
Suggested sample / positive control Rat brain
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: Golgi apparatus membrane
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IF/ICC Conditions for IF/ICC
Recommended dilution See the validation images or contact technical support
Suggested sample / positive control Rat brain
Key conditions Optimize fixation, permeabilization, and blocking, and include a secondary-only control
Expected result Expected fluorescence localization: Golgi apparatus membrane
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a protein which is targeted to the medial Golgi apparatus and is necessary for posttranslational modification of dystroglycan. Mutations in this gene have been associated with congenital muscular dystrophy, mental retardation, and cerebellar cysts. Several alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been described, but the full-length nature of some of these variants has not been determined.
Gene ID 79147
Gene name FKRP
Swiss Q9H9S5
Synonym Fkrp; FKRP_HUMAN; FLJ12576; Fukutin related protein; Fukutin-related protein; LGMD2I; MDC1C; MGC2991;
