Suggested sample / positive control DU145,Mouse kidney
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 80-120kDa(cleavages),135 kDa(Observed)
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1/100 - 1/1000
Suggested sample / positive control DU145,Mouse kidney
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation

Target data

Background E-Cadherin sometimes called CDH1 or Cadherin-1 is a protein that plays a role in cell-to-cell adhesion. This transmembrane protein has a molecular weight of approximately 120 kDa. E-Cadherin is mainly expressed in epithelial tissues of various organs including the skin and gut. Its adhesive function is made possible by its extracellular domain that facilitates homophilic binding between cells contributing to the maintenance of tissue architecture and cellular integrity.
Gene ID 1999
Gene name CDH1
Swiss P12830
Synonym Arc 1; CADH1_HUMAN; Cadherin 1; cadherin 1 type 1 E-cadherin; Cadherin1; CAM 120/80; CD 324; CD324; CD324 antigen; cdh1; CDHE; E-Cad/CTF3; E-cadherin; ECAD; Epithelial cadherin; epithelial calcium dependant adhesion protein; LCAM; Liver cell adhesion molecule; UVO; Uvomorulin;
Research area E-Cadherin participates in establishing and maintaining adherens junctions which are vital for tissue structure. E-Cadherin operates as a core component of the cadherin-catenin complex which links the protein to the actin cytoskeleton. Through this linkage E-Cadherin plays an important role in signaling pathways that influence cellular growth and differentiation. The protein's ability to mediate intercellular connections also regulates cellular motility and supports basic aspects of cell behavior in epithelial tissues.
