Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse liver,Mouse heart
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 28kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IF/ICC Conditions for IF/ICC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse liver,Mouse heart
Key conditions Optimize fixation, permeabilization, and blocking, and include a secondary-only control
Expected result Expected fluorescence localization: Nucleus
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene is a member of the caudal-related homeobox transcription factor gene family. The encoded DNA-binding protein regulates intestine-specific gene expression and enterocyte differentiation. It has been shown to induce expression of the intestinal alkaline phosphatase gene, and inhibit beta-catenin/T-cell factor transcriptional activity.
Gene ID 1044
Gene name CDX1
Swiss P47902
Synonym Cdx1,Cdx1 Rabbit mAb,Caudal-type homeobox protein 1
Expression Intestinal epithelium.
Functions Plays a role in transcriptional regulation (PubMed:24623306). Involved in activated KRAS-mediated transcriptional activation of PRKD1 in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells (PubMed:24623306). Binds to the PRKD1 promoter in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells (PubMed:24623306). Could play a role in the terminal differentiation of the intestine. Binds preferentially to methylated DNA (PubMed:28473536).
