Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control mouse kidney
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 40kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
ICC/IF Conditions for ICC/IF
Recommended dilution See the validation images or contact technical support
Suggested sample / positive control mouse kidney
Key conditions Optimize fixation, permeabilization, and blocking, and include a secondary-only control
Expected result Expected fluorescence localization: Cell membrane,Multi-pass membrane protein
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background The cysteinyl leukotrienes LTC4, LTD4, and LTE4 are important mediators of human bronchial asthma. Pharmacologic studies have determined that cysteinyl leukotrienes activate at least 2 receptors, the protein encoded by this gene and CYSLTR1. This encoded receptor is a member of the superfamily of G protein-coupled receptors. It seems to play a major role in endocrine and cardiovascular systems.
Gene ID 57105
Gene name CYSLTR2
Swiss Q9NS75
Synonym CYSLTR2,CYSLT2,CYSLT2R,GPCR21,HG57,HPN321,KPG_011,PSEC0146,hGPCR21,CYSLTR2 Rabbit pAb,G-protein coupled receptor GPCR21,G-protein coupled receptor HG57
Expression Widely expressed, with highest levels in the heart, placenta, spleen, peripheral blood leukocytes and adrenal gland. In lung, expressed in the interstitial macrophages, and slightly in smooth muscle cells.
Functions Receptor for cysteinyl leukotrienes. The response is mediated via a G-protein that activates a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. Stimulation by BAY u9773, a partial agonist, induces specific contractions of pulmonary veins and might also have an indirect role in the relaxation of the pulmonary vascular endothelium. The rank order of affinities for the leukotrienes is LTC4 = LTD4 >> LTE4.
