Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse bone marrow
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 29kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IHC Conditions for IHC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:100
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse bone marrow
Key conditions For paraffin sections, optimize retrieval buffer pH, retrieval time, and primary incubation
Expected result Expected localization: extracellular region, plasma membrane
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IF/ICC Conditions for IF/ICC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:100
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse bone marrow
Key conditions Optimize fixation, permeabilization, and blocking, and include a secondary-only control
Expected result Expected fluorescence localization: extracellular region, plasma membrane
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background CD52 / CDW52 is a small glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchored glycoprotein. It has a mature peptide comprising only 12 amino acids and is abundantly expressed on human lymphocytes. From the clinical point of view this protein is an important target for therapeutic interventions aimed at leukocyte depletion in hematological malignancies and post-transplant immunosuppression. CD52 / CDW52 may play a role in carrying and orienting carbohydrate. It is an unusually good target for complement-mediated cell lysis.
Gene ID 1043
Gene name CD52
Swiss P31358
Synonym CD52,CDW52,EDDM5,CD52 Rabbit pAb,Cambridge pathology 1 antigen,Epididymal secretory protein E5,Human epididymis-specific protein 5,HE5
Functions May play a role in carrying and orienting carbohydrate, as well as having a more specific role.
