Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse testis,Rat testis
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 58kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control
IF/ICC Conditions for IF/ICC
Recommended dilution 1:50 - 1:200
Suggested sample / positive control Mouse testis,Rat testis
Key conditions Optimize fixation, permeabilization, and blocking, and include a secondary-only control
Expected result Expected fluorescence localization: Cytoplasm
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Target data

Background This gene encodes a molecular chaperone that is a member of the chaperonin-containing TCP1 complex (CCT), also known as the TCP1 ring complex (TRiC). This complex consists of two identical stacked rings, each containing eight different proteins. Unfolded polypeptides enter the central cavity of the complex and are folded in an ATP-dependent manner. The complex folds various proteins, including actin and tubulin. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
Gene ID 10693
Gene name CCT6B
Swiss Q92526
Synonym CCT6B,CCT-zeta-2,CCTZ-2,Cctz2,TCP-1-zeta-2,TSA303,CCT6B Rabbit pAb,CCT-zeta-like,Chaperonin containing T-complex polypeptide 1 subunit 6B,TCP-1-zeta-like,Testis-specific Tcp20,Testis-specific protein TSA303
Expression Testis-specific.
Functions Molecular chaperone; assists the folding of proteins upon ATP hydrolysis. Known to play a role, in vitro, in the folding of actin and tubulin (By similarity).
