Applications and conditions

Where to start

These starting conditions come from the recommended dilution, validation images, and general assay practice. Titrate for your sample and detection system.

WB Conditions for WB
Recommended dilution 1:500 - 1:2000
Suggested sample / positive control U-87MG,HeLa
Key conditions Use a fresh lysate, incubate at the recommended dilution, and check the predicted and observed molecular weight
Expected result Expected signal or band near 213kDa
Controls Include a positive sample, a negative sample, and a secondary or isotype control

Immunogen

Target data

Background Lipid transfer protein involved in autophagosome assembly. Tethers the edge of the isolation membrane (IM to the endoplasmic reticulum (ER and mediates direct lipid transfer from ER to IM for IM expansion. Binds to the ER exit site (ERES, which is the membrane source for autophagosome formation, and extracts phospholipids from the membrane source and transfers them to ATG9 (ATG9A or ATG9B to the IM for membrane expansion. Lipid transfer activity is enhanced by WIPI1 and WDR45/WIPI4, which promote ATG2A-association with phosphatidylinositol 3-monophosphate (PI3P-containing membranes. Also regulates lipid droplets morphology and distribution within the cell.
Gene ID 23130
Gene name ATG2A
Swiss Q2TAZ0
Synonym ATG2A,ATG2A Rabbit pAb,KIAA0404
Functions Required for both autophagosome formation and regulation of lipid droplet morphology and dispersion.
